Highlands Winter Procedures

Highlands Nordic is located in Simcoe Muskoka Public Health Unit. Please respect the policy and procedures put in place to keep our business a safe and happy place to be.

MASKS

Masks are no longer mandatory however we continue to maintain a mask friendly environment. Public health guidelines recommend wearing masks indoors. We are subject to Public Health mandates and regulation changes as they happen.

TRAIL TICKETS

We are not limited in the number of trail passes sold in a day. All trail tickets are purchased in person. On the weekend tickets are sold from our ticket hut. During the week, we sell all tickets at the front desk inside.

BUILDING USE

The Café and Granary is open to the public for those purchasing food. The Boxlunch Room and Rockside Room (unless booked by a group) are open to the public to eat and leave their bags. For spacing reasons, we are asking people to limit the bags they bring inside. The Team Room is now closed to the public and is designated as Staff Room.

The Wax Hut is open and equipped with ski forms, wax irons and a ventilation system. Bring your own wax, wax scrapers and brushes.

We have one male shower and one female shower. Showers are open. You must bring your own towel. Showers are $2 for one or $5 for a 3-Pack punch card. Showers are free to Season's Pass holders. Visit the Front Desk to pick up the key.

CAFETERIA

CAFÉ IS OPEN! Wednesday to Sunday. During the week from 10 to 3, and on the weekend from 10 to 4.

PROSHOP

We will be continuing to use the appointment system to get customers set up with ski equipment. We have found that this is the best way to give our customers the full service and attention during a ski fitting. Clothing, ski service or wax purchases don't need an appointment and you can drop in for those items during our operating hours.

When you buy a full ski package (boots, poles and skis), you will receive a complimentary Day Pass to use before the end of the 2022/2023 season and 10% off clothing and accessories at the time of your ski package purchase.

As always, we are happy to answer any questions you may have and will continue to provide the depth of knowledge and service you have come to expect. We encourage questions about equipment through emails and phone calls.

SERVICE BENCH

Service Bench will operate as usual. If you are hoping for immediate, while-you-wait service, best practice would be to call ahead of time to see how long your service will take and if we can easily accommodate your request within your schedule. You are also more than welcome to drop off equipment to be picked up at a later time and date.

RENTALS

Cross country ski, snowshoe and fat bike rentals will be offered this year. Rentals are on a first come, first serve basis. The rental form and payment can be processed onsite. Your boots will be stored in the rental area while you ski. Fat Bike and Pulk rentals require a booking via phone call, 705-444-5017.

The Rental Reservation will open on our website after January 9th.

When you return your equipment you will enter the same doors and wait for our staff to assist you.

Pulk (baby pull sled) – We will have two pulk rentals available per day.

LESSONS

Group and private lessons will be offered this season. Check out our lesson page for our lesson descriptions. You can reach us to reserve your lesson at 705-444-5017.

GROUPS

On arrival, we ask one Bus Captain to coordinate with us to assist spacing out anyone who is renting equipment. It is important that Bus Captains purchase trail passes AND rentals for all of their skiers at the same time. Payment can be done by an invoice system or in person. If the Bus Captain can call ahead, while enroute, with the numbers of trail passes and rentals required, it will speed up the process.

You will need to use your bus as a place to store your bags.

Please don’t leave the bus idling. It will prevent the bus from sinking in our parking lot (a $150 towing fee will apply). Buses should park in our upper lot.
