Conditions for January 11, 2022

We 💙 winter! It is so nice to see all this snow. Thank goodness we have our fancy Husky that is lighter with more track features than our old machine because I think we probably would have had a Chanseicle on our hands this morning if not 😂 There is not a ton of base to be had but enough to get the Husky out on the trails! This is especially helpful with the drifts from yesterday. Put those layers on and get out for a ski, it will be worth it! Wind is suppose to be quieter this morning and pick up a little later this afternoon. But in the trees it won’t be as big of a problem! Teal’s Tango, Green, Blue, Yellow, Orange, Back Red and Quarry Loop are open. Chanse will try and get a track in Teal’s Tango today. Back Red and Hawberry Loop may be little thin in sections. Back Red and Teal’s Tango will be drifted in spots.
During the week tickets will be sold out the side window of the chalet. Rentals will come through the second set of doors, all other building uses like ProShop and washrooms will come through the main doors (third set of doors).

Fat biking is closed. Snowshoers are extra welcome right now. It will help pack down the trails. Likely riding will be possible on Thursday or Friday. Follow @highlandsfatbike on Instagram for daily updates on conditions.

Rental & Lesson Update: We are still working on our online system so we will continue to take bookings by phone for rentals and lessons. Once a reservation has been made, payment and filling out the rental form can be completed onsite. We will just take bookings up to Sunday January 15. Please call 705-444-6959.

A couple of things we should remember heading to the season.
– A BUFF IS NOT A MASK. You need to keep a clean and dry mask to wear within 50 metres of the facility.
– please park in the lower parking lot. The upper lot is reserved for staff and groomers.
– Contact tracing needs to be completed each you come. Not the night before. This will only need to be shown in if come into the building.

We request you complete the online Contact Tracing and screening when coming onto the PROPERTY the day you are visiting. You should complete this before you come to ski or snowshoe or fat bike. You cannot do this the night before. This is a public health requirement. This screening will be checked ONLY when entering the building. Entry is through the pro shop doors. Note that cell service may not be good enough to fill out the online form onsite. Once the screening and tracing is complete you will receive an email. Take a screen shot of your contact tracing so it easy to find if you are planning on coming into the building! If the email you receive has come back red, it means you have answered YES to one of the screen questions. In that case public health regulations mean you are NOT able to ski at our location that day. If the email you receive comes back green, we will see you on the trails shortly!
