Today's Report

We have a bit of a cold snap ahead of us but don’t skip out on your ski because of it! Pay attention to the winds and add some layers. Skiing in the cold can be some of the best skiing. We had some beautiful fluffy snow come down to mix into the base. Chanse has regroomed everything with the Husky.

Looks like in the morning the winds will be quite still and in the afternoon it picks up. Of course I will still be heading out for 2pm Ski Club! I will be classic skiing but skaters are also welcome.

AND a long time Season’t Pass holder and friend has offered to Get Active SNOWSHOE Club Monday’s at 2PM as well! Join Angie on a snowshoe this week.

What will I be wearing while on the trails today?

Top, 4 layers: my warmer base layer, merino baselayer that I use for a mid layer, a light fleece and jacket on top.

Bottom, 2 layers (I never wear more than 2 just change the weight): my warmer base layer, and heavier outer pants

Accessories 💁‍♀️: warm hat (Sauce Chill Toque), regular weight buff, warmest mitts (Auclair Gigatex), and my Lorpen socks. I usually put on some vaseline on my cheeks and lips to help cut the wind and add a layer of protection. It won’t help with frostbite but it helps with wind burn.

Best practice will be to check before you come out to ensure there hasn’t been a change through the day. We haven’t been getting a lot of sunshine lately so bring your headlamp to ensure you have light coverage on your ski.
