Today's Report
Today marks another year gone after the loss of Larry. He started this business not because he was a particularly good business person but because he loved cross country skiing and he loved to share this sport with others. Especially training athletes. With so many changes the last couple of years itβs bizarre to realize that there are many people who visit us that never knew Larry. Regardless if you knew him or not, take time to get out for a ski (anywhere!) and think of the person who introduced you to this amazing sport. Silently thank them and then thank Larry for having the passion to build the trails, buildings and establish the spirit that influences the homey feeling we have at Highlands π
Conditions are excellent today. Chanse has taken the Husky out to deal with any drift from yesterday. Itβs a snow day today apparently, although I am not sure why. So my suggestion is to bring the kids out for recess today π
Fat biking is closed. The snowshoeing really helped this weekend, Β but things are still soft. We will need to time to let it firm up.Β Follow @highlandsfatbike on Instagram for daily updates on conditions.
Rental & Lesson Update: We are still working on our online system so we will continue to take bookings by phone for rentals and lessons.Β Once a reservation has been made, payment and filling out the rental form can be completed onsite.Β Please call 705-444-6959. Thanks in advance for your patience.
We request you complete the online Contact Tracing and screening when coming onto the PROPERTY the day you are visiting. You should complete this before you come to ski or snowshoe or fat bike. You cannot do this the night before. This is a public health requirement. This screening will be checked ONLY whenΒ entering the building. Entry is through the pro shop doors. Note that cell service may not be good enough to fill out the online form onsite. Once the screening and tracing is complete you will receive an email. Take a screen shot of your contact tracing so it easy to find if you are planning on coming into the building! If the email you receive has come back red, it means you have answered YES to one of the screen questions. In that case public health regulations mean you are NOT able to ski at our location that day. If the email you receive comes back green, we will see you on the trails shortly! As a back-up we will have a paper copy that can be filled out onsite. Click here to contact trace.Β This must be completed every day you come skiing!
Our conditions texting update program is back!Β We update the conditions page every morning, but sometimes things change through the day. With this program updates will come directly to you as a text. No app download required. Your phone number will not be shared. These updates are not to replace checking the conditions page, but to update you on changes through the day.Β Send you cell phone number to ski@highlandsnordic.ca
