Today's Report
Chanse has gone around again to clean things up with the ginzue.Β Tealβs Tango, Green, Blue, Yellow and Orange are open for rock skiing. Tealβs Tango and Hawberry Loop are especially thin. The skiing will probably be better this afternoon when there has been a chance to get some fresh snow on top of the base.
We will wait to do night skiing, rentals and lessons until we have better conditions. Mostly we are waiting until the base has enough coverage to put a trackΒ
Fat biking is open. Riding is pretty good today, although the climbs will still be a little tough. Follow @highlandsfatbike on Instagram for daily updates on conditions.
When we use βrock skiingβ to describe the trails it means that the base is still thin and you likely donβt want to use your good skis because there isnβt full snow coverage.
Rock skiing is for experienced skiers only. We wont be doing rentals or lessons just yet.Β
A BUFF IS NOT A MASK. You need to keep a clean and dry mask to wear within 50 metres of the facility.
We request you complete the online Contact Tracing and screening when coming onto the PROPERTY the day you are visiting. You should complete this before you come to ski or snowshoe or fat bike. You cannot do this the night before. This is a public health requirement. This screening will be checked ONLY when entering the building. Entry is through the pro shop doors.
Note that cell service may not be good enough to fill out the online form onsite. Once the screening and tracing is complete you will receive an email. Take a screen shot of your contact tracing so it easy to find if you are planning on coming into the building! If the email you receive has come back red, it means you have answered YES to one of the screen questions. In that case public health regulations mean you are NOT able to ski at our location that day. If the email you receive comes back green, we will see you on the trails shortly!
As a back-up we will have a paper copy that can be filled out onsite.
Click here to contact trace.Β This must be completed every day you come skiing!
Our conditions texting update program is back!Β We update the conditions page every morning, but sometimes things change through the day. With this program updates will come directly to you as a text. No app download required. Your phone number will not be shared. These updates are not to replace checking the conditions page, but to update you on changes through the day.Β Send you cell phone number to ski@highlandsnordic.ca
