Looks like we skipped the freezing rain and went straight to snow! Trails are in excellent condition with this addition of fluffy new snow. Conditions will be soft and snow covered as it has continued to snow as Chanse has groomed. Everything has been groomed with the Husky.

The snowshoe trails are open and will give you a little bit of a back country experience with this fresh snow.

The Fat Bike is closed as we wait for this new snow to stop and we start our snow pack journey again.

Another beauty day on the trails. It looks like the freezing rain doesn’t start until 4, so we have a full day to take advantage of. Chanse has regroomed everything with the Husky. It will be a great day for both classic and skate.

You will notice that the tracks are on the left side of the trail today. We do this to help pack down the trail evenly and to make a firm base. Skate skiers apply more pressure as they are skiing than classic skiers. So we switch it up to have the track on the left for the skate skiers to pack down the right side of the trail.

The snowshoe trails are open and in good condition.

The Fat Bike is open. Conditions are in great shape as this snow as really settled in. Get out and ride today before the snow arrives tonight. It will take time to get the trails rideable again. Return via your way out on Adventure Awaits.

Skiing will be excellent today! Especially for those skate skiers who have been dealing with softer conditions the last little bit. It may be a bit drifted in the open areas but it will be minor compared how good the rest of the network is! Chanse has regroomed everything with the Husky.

Get ready for an awesome day on the trails!

This is a perfect wintery day to be outside! Put on some layers and get out for some activity. Trails are in excellent shape and will be a little snow cover as we have a light snow falling right now. Conditions are still a bit soft, so if you can choose classic is your technique of choice today.Β Chanse has regroomed everything with the Husky.

We hope to see you tomorrow for the Sunrise Ski. Chalet doors open at 630, with Sunrise at 7:04. Jackie will be cooking up some cinnamon buns for a post ski and early morning treat.

The snowshoe trails are open, and you may still get some fresh tracks on the Yellow loop!

The Fat Bike is open. The Lower Loop is pretty solid with the Upper Loop softer, but the riding should be good with low PSI.

They will also be a little snow-covered if this snow keeps up. A chilli day with some wind so layers will be so important today. You will want to choose a trail in the trees to give you some protection.

Chanse has regroomed everything with the Husky. Trails are in good shape and remain a fun fast and firm. Skate skiing would be the technique of choice today! Classic will also be good with either waxables and skins. Today Chanse and Hayden will be doing a little bit of snow farming. They are going to be moving some snow on the lower network to ensure we can keep skiing for as long as we can! The focus will be around the Sugar Shack. Follow the V-Boards for the reroute to avoid the work.

Teal’s Tango is closed since its base is quite thin. Everything else is open expect for the Quarry Loop and South Ten. We are seeing some thin spots on Hawberry, the Rockside Loop, and on the Green by the Beaver Pond. It will all be very easy to see and avoid.

The snowshoeing trail is in great shape, and is a lovely way to explore the terrain at Highlands.

The Fat Bike trails are in good shape. The riding continues be fun and firm today! Return to the chalet via the same trail you rode out on in order to miss the short drifted section above the front field.

We have another day of awesome trail conditions.Β  No new snow overnight, but what we got on Thursday and Friday has set up perfectly.Β  Conditions will be better in the earlier part of the day while it’s cooler, but the sun is promising to show itself this afternoon, so it will be a great day to get out at any point!

We are hosting a demo day today, with our friends from Salomon, Fischer/Swix, and Rossignol bringing their latest ski equipment for you to try out.Β  Look for their tents set up in front ofΒ  the chalet.

The snowshoeing trail is in great shape, and is a lovely way to explore the terrain at Highlands.

Fat biking conditions are also really good right now.Β  Yesterday’s riders reported that a low psi worked well, and we’d recommend the same for today.Β  Return to the chalet via the same trail you rode out on in order to miss the short drifted section above the front field.

It was saddening, and maddening, to discover that people had been out walking and running on the ski, snowshoe, and fat bike trails, resulting in large post holes over long distances.Β  Please, under no circumstances, during the winter months, should people be on the ski trails without skis, or the snowshoe trails without snowshoes (please, no crampons/spikes either).Β  It takes a lot of work to try to fill the ruts and holes that are left, and reduces the enjoyment of the trails for other users.
