January 13

We have received a dusting a snow and it is snowing a little bit now, although the forecast has changed so it doesn’t seem like we are getting much. Stay tuned to see what comes from the sky today.

See you tonight at the Where’s the Fluff race!

During the time our ski trails are closed anyone who is a Season’s Pass Holder are welcome to come hike or run on our network. Humans only please – no pups, unless you are visiting Teal’s Tango. Please remain mindful of the precious snow we still have on the trails. You will discover there are still come sections that are completely snow-covered. Once Mother Nature grants us some more snow we will be using this snow to build our base again. During your outing if you come across a well snow-covered patch of trail please walk on the side of the trail to prevent any damage.
We will remain open for the ProShop and what trails we can offer from 9 to 4 daily.

Although we have seen some tough winters before, this is an historic first. We have not had to be closed with no trails open for this long at this point of the season. We appreciate the support we get from our great community!

Well after an end of day inspection yesterday it has become clear that shovelling will not be possible. The snow on the trails is gone, which means we will be starting from scratch. Do your snow dance as we wait for some more snow to arrive.
The ProShop will remain open daily from 9 to 4:30.

Happy new year 🎉 Here’s to a snowy 2023!

Welp…this isn’t the report I was hoping for this morning but unfortunately the warm winds last night did some major damage. We will have to close the trails until further notice. We will get through the next couple days with rain and see what we may be able to patch with shovelling.

Chanse has regroomed the skate lane with the ginzue. Tracks are still in place from yesterday. You will see a bit of a glaze in the tracks, likely transitioning to klister later in the day. Conditions are in good shape with a few thin and bleed through spots on Teal’s Tango, Quarry Loop and Woolner Loop. Although it will be best to get out in the morning before it really warms up.

We have been able to get some of the fat bike trails open. With about 8km rideable. It will be quite soft riding today and likely not a great day to be on the trails. A low PSI will be key. Visit us inside to leave the new loop!

Chanse has taken the Husky out for another lap this morning. Conditions are in good shape with a few thin spots on Teal’s Tango, Quarry Loop and Woolner. Get out to enjoy winter while you can, with some warm weather on its way. Although we are hoping we will be able to limp through 🤞

Another beautiful winter day. Chanse has groomed everything with the Husky again. The Woolner Loop will still have a few thin spots, but everything else is in excellent shape. It is lightly snowing now so you will find things snow covered. It will still be a little soft.

The Yuletide Blast is on today. All trails are still open! We will all just have to share 🤗 This is a race of about 150 people. First racer goes out at 1030, and last racer is out at noon. They go off in 30 second intervals. If you see a racer try to safely step off to the side to allow them to pass and give them a cheer📣. This is a skate race and conditions are a little better for classic anyway. There will be quite the buzz at the chalet with everyone! Racers have been designated to the Rockside Room and Boxlunch Room. The public can use the Cafe and Granary. And as a special treat the Cafe will be open today for all your favourite things.

December 26

8:30 Update:

Woolner Loop is also open! There are a few thin spots on that loop. Everything else is in great shape.

Finally a chance to play in all this snow! It’s a little bit hard to tell because the drifts  have been so crazy but we think we have gotten about 30cm since Friday. Chanse has taken out the Husky on its first voyage of the season on the whole network. Everything is open!

With this much fresh snow conditions will be soft. Much better for classic. We are seeing a little bit of wind today which means some drifting, but in the trees it will be quite nice.

Enjoy this fresh powder on the snowshoe trails! It will be a good workout with the “back country” snowshoe conditions.

Thankfully the wind died down Saturday afternoon so that the snow could settle itself on the trails. Chanse took care of some trees and big branches so things are looking to be in good shape on Monday.
We will take a break today to eat, nap and spend time with loved ones.
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
