February 24

Trails are shaping up beautifully today. It will be a nice crisp day to be outside with the sun shining. It is slow going but Chanse has regroomed everything with the Husky. The machine has chewed everything up to make fast groomed granular conditions, with the ability to get an edge and have control. It will especially be a great day for skate and skin skis. As people start to snowplow we will see our fine layer of snow get pushed off the hills and we may see some icy patches. If you don’t feel comfortable please take off you skis and walk to the SIDE of the trail. Make the most of winter while it is here!

Teal’s Tango & Quarry Loop are closed, with a few thin spots on Rockside off the Woolner Loop.

Snow Squall Sale! This weekend only. Take an additional 20% off any item with a clearance sticker. New stock recently marked down.

4:30PM Update:Β

A rare 2 texts in one day. It is transitioning a lot faster than anticipated, so instead of closing at the last minute Chanse is going to do a loop with the Husky on the lite trail. It will still be fast but you will be able to have more control and get an edge. Please only ski what has been groomed recently. You can always check in at the front desk to confirm what has been groomed. We expect conditions to be in much better tomorrow

8AM Update:

When it is all said and done there are some icy spots in the tracks (a good day for skins!) and the Recreational Downhill has some ice and there are a few icy patches down low. Please use some caution. Conditions are in much better shape up top.

Yep, it certainly feels like Spring out there. Chanse is making a few laps around with the snowmobile and Ginzue to break up the skate land. The Track is still in place from a couple days ago and is solid. It will be an interesting day temperature wise. You will find it fast first thing and quickly slow down as the sun comes up, but then we are seeing a drop in temperature during the afternoon which will help tighten things up. We will be seeing some fast Night Skiing conditions. We recommend jumping out of the tracks when coming downhill.

Teal’s Tango is closed, with a few thin spots on Rockside off the Woolner Loop and the top of Quarry.

We will close off the lower parking the lot for the next couple of days. Please park in our upper lot.

The Cafe is open Wednesday to Sunday. During the week from 10 to 3, and on the weekend from 10 to 4.

We absolutely pride ourselves on accurate conditions post. Everything we write is coming straight from Chanse (with maybe a little extra flare). We will also be honest about how the trails are looking to ensure everyone has a good time!

February 22

Chanse was up this morning to do a couple laps on the snowmobile and ginzue. It was doing more damage than good, so we will keep machines off for today. It didn’t go below zero last night. Hovered around 1 degree all night but there was a ground frost that helped firm up the base. We have crust layer on top. It would be best to wait until it warms up a little bit and let the sun get on the trails to soften them up. It will be fast first thing and then quickly slow down as it gets warmer. Given the forecast…welcome to Spring skiing!

We will see some thin spots come through. Likely on the knuckle of the Quarry Loop and Teal’s Tango.

We will close off the lower parking the lot for the next couple of days. Please park in our upper lot.

February 21

We have a little warm spell over the next couple of days but with our current base we should be able to make it through. Chanse has tidied up with skate lane with the ginzue and snowmobile. The track is solid and in place from yesterday. Conditions will be their best first thing when we open and likely soften up by 10 or 11. It is staying above zero for night skiing but it will likely turn a bit fast as the sun goes down.

We will close off the lower parking the lot for the next couple of days. Please park in our upper lot.

February 20

Chanse is out there cleaning up the trails with the Husky. It is going to be an incredible day! If you can I would choose to come for a ski in the morning. We are seeing the temperatures rise above zero today so conditions will get soft around noon. It will still be good skiing if you decide to come in the afternoon! It will just be a little slower. We getting some warmer temperatures the next couple of days. We are feeling confident that we will get through this little warm spell. Especially since it will be getting cold at night and we have the mighty Husky to groom the trails!

Another 15cm of snow just for me arrived overnight, don’t worry I will share πŸ€— We are happy to report we woke up to another dumping of snow. It will be an excellent day on the trails. Looks like we are going to be getting a bit of snow throughout the day so you will see the trails snow covered after Chanse has groomed everything with the Husky. Of course you can still skate but it is a better classic day since the trails will be a bit soft.

Well we have a nice fast machine groomed granular….JUST KIDDING! I was sick of writing that. What we really have is Mother Nature stepping up her game. About 15cm of new snow and it is still lightly snow now. Chanse is out managing the snow in the Husky. It will be a wonderful winter ski out there. You will find conditions on the soft side, making it a great classic day. Welcome back winter!
