March 8

10AM Update:

Everything has held up nicely so we do have everything open except the Woolner Loop. You need to work your way over the trenches down below but once you get up top it is all good! Reports coming in are that it is pleasantly soft. Some folks had concerns it was going to be firm and that is not the case. Lots of control today! Certainly worth getting out for some sunshine.

__________________________________________________________

I don’t know about you but I could have used that extra hour of sleep. Nobody ask me any complicated questions today!

Now let me give you the novel that is our Conditions Report.

Chanse is always a busy bee but he was extra busy this morning. Predictably there is some water around! There are some trenches to let the water flow. You will be able to ski around them/over them. Just be mindful they exist! There will be some around the building, by the Sugar Shack and at the bottom of the Recreational Downhill. There are some wet spots around. I would not say it is icy because it stayed warm enough. Saying that the temperatures have dropped enough that Chanse has been able to groom with the Husky. It is tilling up nicely! It will get softer as the day warms up.

Whats open? Thats super great question and at this point we are just guessing. We think everything but the Woolner Loop will be open. It will be a bit of a wait and see game as Chanse gets to those spots. We are feeling optimistic most will be open but we cant be 100% sure. I will do another update around 9 with changes Chanse has found along the way.

Bottom line. Skiing is good, it will be bit wet and slower, and it will be warm. Welcome to March!

Use the North Parking Lot. Please use some caution in the parking lot. We have tried to break up the ice but it may be still icy.

Please note that March 1 and beyond 8 Packs are not available for purchase. You will be able to buy them again at the beginning of the 2026/2027 Season .

March 7

If you are feeling keen for a ski we are here! Trails are open. Of course it’s a bit too warm to take any machines out on the trails so they are set from yesterday. The track is still in place from yesterday. The skate lane will be a bit choppy. We have little to no base change from the rain last night. Looks like we miss the rain this morning on the radar and rain comes in the afternoon. The morning will be your best opportunity for a ski. I will say if you are new to skiing this is not the day to come out but people with ski experience will be fine. It will be SOFT!

Not much to say expect that if you ever wanted to ski in shorts and t-shirts today is your day!

Cafe will be closed today.

Chanse has groomed everything with the Husky in the wee hours of the morning. The track is still on the left again today. It will be firm and fast with the ground frost this morning since Chanse groomed a little earlier than normal. It will likely transition to being little softer around 10. You need to keep on your feet in these conditions when it goes from sun to shade! Conditions continue to be in great shape and are prime Spring conditions. The rain doesn’t start until the evening so we are in good shape to have a good ski day before the rain comes.

With the rain coming we will NOT have Night Skiing tonight.

And now you probably want me to look into my crystal ball and tell you what I think is going to happen over the next couple of days. Welllll the short answer is I feel pretty confident that we are going to get through this Saturday mess. I even feel it’s possible we are going to have some decent skiing on Sunday. So the best I can offer is….you guessed it…stay tuned to the Conditions Page!

Use the North Parking Lot. Please use some caution in the parking lot. We have tried to break up the ice but it may be still icy.

Chanse is back at the wheel (or sticks more accurately) in the Husky this morning. The track will be on the left today just to mix it up for you! The morning will be a nice fast with control and may start to slow down in the afternoon. With the cloud cover and it not being as warm as yesterday I dont see it getting as soft as it did yesterday. You need to keep on your feet in these conditions when it goes from sun to shade! Conditions are in great shape and are prime Spring conditions.

Obviously some less than ideal weather is coming. Stay tuned here for all your morning updates but long story short is I feel pretty confident we will get through this warm and wet spell. But it’s always a waiting game and we will have to wait and see!

Grip wax continues to be an experiment. I suspect you will need to run a warmer wax in order to get grip on this granular. I have put some suggestions to try. Let us know if you find something that works!

Please use some caution in the parking lot. We have tried to break up the ice but it may be still icy.

March 4

This is the best of March skiing. Tim has groomed everything with the Husky which will chew up all the firm snow to make it a granular sugary snow with lots of control. I was surprised at how firm things stayed yesterday even when it got warm. It is getting extra toasty (like pack a t-shirt toasty) so it may soften up a little more later in the afternoon.

Night skiing is a go. It will get faster as the sun sets and we see a crust form. I would say completing your ski by 7 will likely make for a more fun ski for you.

Grip wax continues to be an experiment. I suspect you will need to run a warmer wax in order to get grip on this granular. I have put some suggestions to try. Let us know if you find something that works!

March 3

Another lovely day in the Duntroon neighbourhood. Low winds and a little bit of sun. Tim has groomed everything with the Husky. It is still a granular snow that is very sugary. It will be fast first thing but you will still be able to get an edge in. As it warms up it will slow down.

Grip wax continues to be an experiment. I suspect you will need to run a warmer wax in order to get grip on this granular. I have put some suggestions to try. Let us know if you find something that works!

March 2

It is going to be a truly lovely day out today. The sun is shining and minimal wind called Β for. Tim has groomed everything with the Husky. It is a granular snow that is very sugary. It will be fast but you will still be able to get an edge in. We are going to see some mega changes in conditions by the end of the week. Enjoy these winter conditions while you can!

Grip wax continues to be an experiment. I suspect you will need to run a warmer wax in order to get grip on this granular. I have put some suggestions to try. Let us know if you find something that works!

March 1

I think this is the definition of in the lamb. Welcome to March! It will be an excellent day outside. The temperatures are cold but there is something about that March Sun that feels different. Little to no wind is expected. Chanse has groomed with the Husky. It will be firm and fast again today. You will still be able to get an edge in.

Grip wax will be an experiment today. I suspect you will need to run a warmer wax in order to get grip on this granular. I have put some suggestions to try. Let us know if you find something that works!

February 28

We are lining up for a beautiful Saturday. A little bit of sun and great trail conditions should make us all feel a little cheery on the last day of February. Chanse has groomed everything with the Husky. It is going to be fast today but in a fun way. It is granular but has been chewed up enough that you can easily get in an edge.

Grip wax may be a tricky one today and we are seeing some temperature changes through the day. I have put some suggestions but please stop by to see if we have any suggestions for the time you are actually skiing.

Please use some caution in the parking lot. We have tried to break up the ice but it may be still a bit icy in spots.

February 27

Bust out the sun screen because the sun is on its way today. Conditions are in excellent shape. Tim has groomed everything with the Husky. We are seeing it get warmer today, it will likely get a bit soft but not too much since the base is so packed. I have put a wide range of grip wax suggestions as it will really depend on what time of day you are coming out!

We are a go for Night Skiing tonight. Please keep in mind that as soon as the sun goes down the snow will get faster has more of a crust. It is staying above zero but with the ground frost will come up and crust up the trails pretty quickly. Tis the season where were are going to see more of these bigger transitions from day to night.
