Our trails did not do too badly with yesterday’s rain and warmth, but we are concerned about the forecast for tomorrow.

Chanse has re-groomed the skate lane with the ginzu, and it has come up quite nicely.Β  The classic track will be a bit icy early this morning until temperatures warm up.

Conditions will be generally quite fast first thing, and we are recommending that only experienced skiers come prior to 10AM.Β  Some Strava crowns may be available!

Our snowshoe trail will be open today, but fat biking will only be open until noon before conditions become soft.

We will be open for night skiing today.Β  The trails should be starting to firm up again by this evening, so it could be great skiing.

We will be CLOSED TOMORROW to try to preserve as much of our snow as we can given the forecast.Β  Hopefully the temperature will drop more quickly tomorrow, and we will get some new snow at the tail end of the system.Β  Fingers crossed!

Our Valentine’s “Feel the Love” sale is on starting this weekend.Β  Get 14% off your total purchase in our pro shop from Feb 11-20. Some conditions apply.Β  See store for details.

Chance has taken the snowmobile and ginzu out today to re-groom the skate lane.Β  The classic track is in good shape from yesterday, so we’ll leave it alone.

All of the ski trails are open today, but you can expect some drifting on the Woolner loop given today’s forecast wind.

Our snowshoe trails are fully open.

Our fat bike trails will be open this morning, but will close at noon in order to protect them with the warm temps.Β  Come and ride early.

Chanse has used the big machine today, and the trails are in perfect condition right now!Β  After two days of wildly different temperatures, today’s weather looks ideal.Β  Bring your sunglasses and sunscreen.

We do have a bit of a weather rollercoaster ahead of us this week, but with nighttime temperatures staying below zero, conditions should remain good.

Our snowshoeing and fat biking trails are also in great shape.Β  We have rentals available if you don’t have your own equipment.Β  Call ahead to reserve.

What a differenceΒ  a day makes!Β  We are out of the deep cold and into a totally different weather system for the next few days.

All of our trails are in fantastic shape, but with these warmer temps skating will be really good today.Β  Conditions will be best in the earlier part of the day.

The snowshoe trails and fat biking trails are also in top shape, with just a few soft spots where there are drifts.Β  The fat biking will be best earlier in the day, as the trail will soften as things warm up.Β  Β Fat bike rentals are available.Β  Please call ahead so we can reserve one for you.

The snow conditions are really good right now!Β  The Husky has done a great job of smoothing out the drifts and firming up both the skate lane and the classic track.Β  It will be cold to start the day, but remember, “There’s no such thing as bad weather…”Β  Cover up, and enjoy winter in Canada now that it has arrived!

Our lower loop of fat biking trails will be open today, but there are a few large drifts on parts of the rest of the network making it too soft for riding,.Β  Only 2km open for riding today.

We are open for night skiing tonight (Saturday), but the lights are not programmed to come on on Saturdays, so be sure to bring a headlamp, or ski under the full moon!Β  Come and enjoy the magic of night skiing, snowshoeing, or fat biking.Β  That will also be the warmest part of the day today!

CONDITIONS UPDATE:Β  We will be closed for night skiing tonight due to the weather.Β  If you are coming for a ski this afternoon, please be sure to be on your way home by 4:30pm, so that our staff can also drive home in the daylight.

It will be a cold day out there today, with winds out of the NW that will make it feel considerably colder.Β  Best bets today are going to be the trails that are in the woods, where the wind chill will not be as severe. We can also expect some drifting, so sections like the Woolner loop would not be recommended. Perhaps try snowshoeing today, just make sure that you’ve dressed warmly and covered up any exposed skin.

Our fat biking trails are too soft for riding, and will be closed today.

The lights will be on tonight (Friday), and tomorrow night (Saturday), so come and enjoy the magic of night skiing, snowshoeing, or fat biking.

Black Bellows Brewing Co. will be at Highlands Nordic on Saturday night, Feb 4. Come and enjoy a ski or snowshoe followed by a flight of beer and a charcuterie board. Tickets are $40. Please rsvp and pay in advance by Thursday, by calling 705-444-5017.Β  Families are welcome.Β  Non beer drinkers $25

With more snow yesterday, conditions are steadily improving.Β  Our entire network is open and has been groomed by our big machine.Β  Conditions are still a bit soft so classic skiing might be preferable today, but whatever you decide to do it is a winter wonderland out there.

Our single track trails need to get packed down some more before we can open up for fat biking. If you are interested in riding, come on out and do a loop on snowshoes to help firm things up.Β  Conditions for snowshoeing are great right now!

Our pro shop is stocked with lots of selection for your active, outdoor, winter needs.Β  We have clothing and accessories, as well as a good selection of ski gear if you are considering upgrading your older equipment, or purchasing for the first time.Β  Drop in, or book a fitting appointment with our experienced staff, and we’ll help make your skiing experience that much more enjoyable!
