Conditions are still pretty good out there. There is a little spot at the Sugar Shack that you need to look out for and it is that is easy to avoid, and sections of Hawberry are a little thin. Just a little bit of that early season roll. The track starts at the Sugar Shack
There is a high school race of about 80 kids today. It is a relay race where they will only be using about 800m. Around the chalet will seem quite busy but once you are past the Sugar Shack the trails will be all clear. They are racing from the Teaching Area to Sugar Shack around down the Recreational downhill. Don’t forget to cheer on these racers when you see them! πŸ“£ We will ensure there is space inside for the general public to sit and keep their bags.
Teal’s Tango, Green, Blue, Yellow, Millennium Loop, and Orange are open.

Stay on only what is groomed please.

$30 trail passes.

A little bit of snow goes a long way! I am happy to report that a track is in and conditions are good enough to put away those rock skis. There is one only little spot at the Sugar Shack that you need to look out for and it is that is easy to avoid. We still have some of that early season roll but overall conditions will be pretty good.

Another little dusting of snow on top, with snow forecasted to come later today. We continue with our rolly rock skiing conditions. It is a bit thin at the Look Out and around the driving range to the Glacier. Teal’s Tango is also a bit thin. Use caution on the downhills as people snow plow down them the first couple of times.
Teal’s Tango, Green, Blue, Yellow, Millennium Loop, Second Finger and Back Orange are open.

Stay on only what is groomed please. Rock skiing is defined as skiing without full coverage and a thin a base, where there may be derby sticking through. Rock skiing is not for beginner skiers and our rentals skis are not to be used.

Just a dusting of snow on top this morning. It’s trying to snow but it doesn’t seem to be producing anything. We likely won’t see any snow today. Conditions are about the same as yesterday for our rock skiing. It is a bit thin at the Look Out and around the driving range. Teal’s Tango is also a bit thin. The downhill from the Glacier won’t be great as people snow plow down the first couple of times.

Finally some snow! Chanse went out and groomed yesterday afternoon which did wonders to help set up this snow. A mixture of wet, dense snow and freezing rain has made a solid start to the base. He has gone around this morning again and has set up nicely for rock skiing. It will be a bit sticky and rolly out there but it’s a start. No track just yet. The downhill from the Glacier won’t be great as people snow plow down the first couple of times.

No groups today so come and use the oval at your leisure.
There hasn’t been any exciting weather has arrived just yet. Looks like we may start with some freezing rain and then transition into snow around 11. Let’s go β˜ƒοΈ!
The snow is out the front doors to the bottom of the Teaching Hill. There is about a 200m stretch. Since there are some days this week that we have some high school novice days keep posted here as we may close on certain days to space out the use of the small section.
Anybody is welcome to come use it today. $15 trail passes.

December 14

More of the same out there. The oval track will have anotherΒ novice day. There is about 30 students. Sharing is caring so please just give way to these new high school skiers being introduced to our sport!

It has been pointed out our loop is much more like a speed skate oval race track. So you can feel more like an awesome athlete going around the oval than a hamster πŸ˜‰ We do have a small novice day with 15 students. Since it’s such a small group we feel anyone who wants to use the oval can share with the group. Please just give way to these new high school skiers being introduced to our sport!

We got a little bit of snow yesterday but not enough to open any trails so we Β continue on the hamster wheel of man made snow.

Looks like we are getting some natural snow today! Do you snow πŸ’ƒΒ πŸ•Ί. Not a lot forecasted but let’s hope it’s the start of more to come.

We just got a dusting overnight so we continue to work with the small section of snow Chanse and Hayden made.
As I said yesterday its a bit of hamster on a wheel situation with snow out the front doors to the bottom of the Teaching Hill. There is about a 200m stretch. Since we are working with limited space we will stick a the schedule below.
