December 10

We had to give Mother Nature a hand this week. Chanse and Hayden have been working hard since Thursday night to get some snow on the ground. Unfortunately there was some machinery challenges around midnight last night and they had to shut down a little earlier than they hoped. Which means our ski section is a little shorter than expected. But we will work with what we got wont we?!
Its going to be a bit of hamster on a wheel situation with snow out the front doors to the bottom of the Teaching Hill. There is about a 200m stretch. Since we are working with limited space we will stick a the schedule below.

Saturday:

In the morning the snow will be used by the Junior Trailblazer programs
After noonΒ the snow is open to seasons pass holders and day ticket users ($15 trail passes).

Sunday

In the morning until 1pm the snow willΒ be open to seasons pass holders and day ticket users ($15 trail passes)

In the afternoon after 1 the snow will be used for the Junior Trailblazer programs.

November 25

It was fun while it lasted but between the warmth and wind yesterday and last night we will close the trails today. Don’t worry it is only November! Very rarely do we get snow in November that sticks around. It will be back! Stay tuned to the conditions page for updates as any new snow arrives.
In the meantime the ProShop is open 7 days a weeks for ski fittings by appointment, but drop in anytime during opening hours for clothing, accessories, waxes and ski service.

Monday to Sunday from 9 to 430.

The Cafe will open on December 3 on weekends.

November 24

For how warm it got yesterday the trails are still holding up, but today will likely do some damage as we are seeing some bleed through and thinning. Hayden groomed last night to clean up the skate lane. Track is still in place. Coming down from the Glacier you should use caution. The first hill at the Sugar Shack and Green trail are thin. Skiing will be its best first thing, and given the forecast could be our last for a little while. Make the most of it!

Teal’s Tango, Green, Blue, Yellow and Second Finger is open. Stay on only what is groomed please. We would still define it as rock skiing with this thin base. Rock skiing is defined as skiing without full coverage and a thin a base, where they may be derby sticking through. Rock skiing is not for beginner skiers and our rentals skis are not to be used.

This information may change as we get more updates.

Hayden took the Ginzue around last night to clean up the state lane. The track remains in place when Chanse a set it a couple days ago. With no new snow and some warmer days we are starting to see some bleed through on the trails. It will be fast and firm first thing but will soften quickly as it warms up. Use some caution on the return from the Glacier. As it gets warmer this week we may close the trails to preserve them for the weekend. So today is a good opportunity to get out!

Conditions continue to be pretty good for November! The morning is going to be a bit better while it’s still colder and then we head to above zero in the afternoon where it will soften up. Chanse did manage to get a track in! So you will find an early season track around the network πŸ€—

11:30 update: Chanse has managed to get a track in!

The snow just kept coming Β yesterday! Chanse kept grooming until 11, with over 80km of laps on the snowmobile, to try and catch as much of the snow as it came down but there was a point where it wasn’t going to make a difference. Today is easier πŸ˜‰ Skiing today will still be a bit soft but less work and hopefully a bit more gliding. Teal’s Tango, Green, Blue and Second Finger is open. Stay on only what is groomed please. With the snow just missing us most of the week we woke up to a nice little surprise from Mother Nature! Chanse is out there rolling away to expand the trails we have open. Well this is a good start to get some keeners out on snow! Chanse has rolled some trails for rock skiing. Teal’s Tango, in front of the Chalet looping around to the upper stadium. Looks like we are getting a little bit of snow today, with a decent amount of wind. So make sure you wear something to protect your face! It is a thin base with grass poking through.

$10 trail passes!

Still a bit too wet to venture out onto the rest of the network. Please remain only on trails that are groomed.
