Chanse has let the Husky “out of the cage” 😂. He has gone around to groom everything. It looks like we are in for a really nice day, although it is suppose to be a little windy. This means you will find some drifting in the open areas. In the trees it will be really nice. Please respect our closing time. Open daily from 8:30 to 4:30. Open until 8 on Wednesday and Fridays for Night Skiing. 

Fat biking is open today. Riding will be good today. The trail has bee groomed this morning. You will find some drifting in the Quarry section. Remember to have at least 3.8 inch tires and 8PSI or less.

After a meeting with public health we have needed to put more structure into place for our Trackside ordering and Ski Service. We are no longer able to do any in person ordering. This means for any items like wax, clothing or accessories you need to call us in advance to order and set up a time you will be coming to pick up or drop off. For ANY ski service; glide wax, applying grip, fixing equipment, cutting poles and so on will also need to arrange a drop off time in advance. We are able to offer same day service if you are waiting in your vehicle or out for a ski.

Although the sun is suppose to be out, so even in the colder temps it has been really nice with the sun shining. Please respect our closing time. Open daily from 8:30 to 4:30. Finish off the month with another great day on the trails. Conditions are excellent with cold and firm snow, so it won’t be super fast out there. Classic will be the best out there. Its possible someone forgot to turn the snowmaking machine off. We seem to keep getting snow, even when they arent called for it! No complaints here! This is setting us up nicely for February. The conditions report is pretty much a repeat of yesterday. The snow is light and fluffy so conditions will be very soft. It continues to snow which means you will find the trails snow covered. The trails will feel narrow today as the snow has created banks that are folding back onto the trail. Its chilly today so make sure to wear some good layers. We would suggest classic skiing today if you have the choice! Please respect our closing time. Open daily from 8:30 to 4:30. Open until 8 on Wednesday and Fridays for Night Skiing.

It seems incredible to me that it has been 6 years since Larry passed away, and we now have so many faces out on the trails that didn’t know him. I think I say this every year. But even if you didn’t know him in person you know his spirit. His spirit is channelled through  Chanse’s pride of grooming the perfect trails, its the cheerful welcome as your arrive, and the joy we all have sharing our love of cross country skiing. This has been the craziest year and there is two things I know he would be feeling right now. First he would have hated with all the rules. I mean we all do, but he would have been so cheesed. Not being to be able to help people with what they need right away has been tough for us, but Larry would be going out of his mind. He was a helper and teacher to the core. Need a cork…here you go. Shoot I forgot my boots…try these out. Something is not quite right with my technique…let me show you some tips. The flip side of all that is that he would be blown away with the number of people excited to get out and cross country ski! When Larry was impressed he would sit there and give a nice long whistle, sometime two in a row when something was really cool with an enthusatic right on! With all the number of skis we have sold, and the number of new members we have I would say he’s whistling away with a big old right on!

Today we remember and think of him and all he built so everyone could find their passion for cross country skiing. 💙
