April 2

We tried our best but one last day just doesn’t seem possible. Warm temperature, winds and high sun did quite a number on key spots where the water really started flowing. Followed by a drastic drop in temperature (plus 13 to minus 9!) has resulted in many icy sections.

So that brings the season to a close. To say our season made it to the end of March is a pretty big accomplishment, especially with the way things started. In the end we were able to get lots of good days on snow. In the meantime we are looking forward to taking a break and enjoying our off season. We will see you next season! _________________________________________________

The trails and facility will be closed today. It seems we have had every possible type of weather in the last 24hrs. Yesterday we started off with some wet snow, and then spent a good chunk of the day overcast. Since yesterday evening it has been consistently raining, and is currently raining. It is expected to continue to rain a little this morning and then maybe switch to a bit of snow. We are going to try and squeeze out one more day of skiing tomorrow Sunday April 2. Stayed tuned here to see how the trails did tomorrow morning!

Please note that the ProShop is now closed. Staff are working on inventory and packing up the ProShop. If you see something you would like to purchase that is still out we can help you out but the Shop is not organized in its usual fashion. The Service Bench is open.

For parking use the upper lot.

Please remember it is extremely important to not walk on any of the trails. The ski trail are meant for skiing and while on the snowshoe and fat bike trails you must use snowshoes. Even if conditions seem firm you may come across a softer wetter section and sink through. These potholes are very time consuming to repair and it is something that is easily avoidable! Thank you for your thoughtfulness in this matter.

The snowshoe trails are closed.

The Fat Biking is closed.

We have a roller coaster of a day ahead of us. It is already starting to try and rain. The trails are open if you are keen to ski but we have not regroomed. Still well covered but use some caution on the downhills.
As a heads up the trails and building will be closed on Saturday given the forecast and then will plan to open for Sunday for the last hurrah on Sunday if the rain hasn’t washed us out.

This might just be the last really good day of the season. A perfect mixture of fresh snow got mixed into the granular base. It is going to be a truly awesome day on the trails. Hayden has regroomed everything with the Husky.

Another day of Spring skiing. There is a bit of snow in the forecast so we may see some snow cover on the trails. Hayden has regroomed everything with the Husky. As we have learned by now the skiing is the best first thing and then as it warms up the snow slows down. There is one dirt patch on Hawberry that is still easy to see and move around. Best to stick to the right.

Teal’s Tango is now closed.

More of the same conditions out there. Trails continue to be in good shape. Hayden has regroomed everything with the Husky. It will be fast first thing but transition quickly to being soft as it gets warmer and the sun comes up. There is one dirt patch on Hawberry that is easy to see and move around. Teal’s Tango is has two corners that are a little thin.

Chanse has regroomed everything with the Husky on another great Spring skiing day. The best skiing is first thing when it’s firmer but it transitions to soft snow fast as it warms up! Although since it will be overcast it won’t get soft quite as quickly. There are few icy patches down by the building but they have been double tilled to chew them up. This will become more common as moisture comes up. There is one dirt patch on Hawberry that is easy to see and move around. Teal’s Tango is has two corners that are a little thin. Everything else is in great shape. Not too shabby for March 27!

The trails have made it through another rain storm. Take advantage of skiing today you never know when it will be your last! The snow is fast but enough to get an edge in and will soften as the day gets warmer and the sun comes up. It’s a windy day out there so we may see some drifting. Choose a trail in the trees! The open areas won’t be a lot of fun. It is another slow day of grooming for Chanse so there are a few spots we are a little unsure of. No news is good news for Hawberry, Woolner and Teal’s Tango. We will update here is there is a change. The Husky has been taken out to freshly groom the trails.

Today is the last day for the Cafe and ProShop. fill up on treats and get what you need in the ProShop before it is too late!

Up and at em’! Get your ski in this morning before we see a shift in the weather. Snow is predicted for this morning and transitioning to freezing rain around noon. The trails are in great shape with the exception of Teal’s Tango where the heat of the sun has been chewing away at some of the corners. It is also a bit thin on Hawberry. Chanse regroomed everything last night with the Husky for it to set up nicely for today. It will be fast until we start to see the fresh snow fall. That will slow things down a bit. Remember this is the last weekend for the ProShop so get what you need before it is too late!

We didn’t see as much rain as predicted so that trails held up well. Chanse is out regrooming with the Husky. It is a slow grooming day since it was so warm yesterday and dropping down to the -5. The Husky is doing its job of chewing up that firm base but because it is slow there are sections he hasn’t gotten to yet where it might be thin. The best thing to do is to check in at the front desk to see if there are any updates. The two places aren’t quite sure about are the top of Second Finger and Hawberry. But overall the skiing should be really good today. Especially for skate skiing.
