Whoa that was a crazy night! Wind, snow, and then transitioned to rain (Why?!😩) but it seems like we are coming through to the other side. Chanse has been working hard since very early morning to get things open for us. He has rolled everything with the snowmobile and is now putting a track in and grooming with the Ginzue. Skiing first thing won’t be great, but will be better mid morning as the temperature starts to drop. Chanse will be still working on the trails at opening time so please be mindful and patient.

Everything is open expect for the Woolner Loop.

It is getting better and better out there each day. With more snow to come this weekend is looking good! Conditions are in pretty good shape and Chanse has even managed to get a track in. He has ginzue groomed everything.

Blue, Yellow and Orange are open.

There are a few thin spots but it looks like we are almost out of the rock skiing faze. Early season snow is not for beginners and we are suggesting rock skis. There are thin spots throughout the network and we have our early season roll on the trails that will stick around until there is more snow to be able to push around to make the trails flatter.

The ProShop will be open daily from 9 to 4.

1PM Update:

I come to report good news! Angus came back from his ski and has said that the skiing is the best it has been so far this season. We are still recommending rock skis, but the base is firm and we have had a nice topping of 3cm of snow. To quote Angus “It was like skiing on top of a cloud”. And we didn’t even pay him to say that! Currently -1 and lightly snowing.

We received a dusting of snow yesterday that is mixing nicely into our new base. It will be fast today and feel challenging to get an edge. Chanse has groomed with the Ginzue which means he was able to drop the teeth to help break up the snow. You will need to use some caution on the downhills.

There are some thin sections around the Sugar Shack, Rainbow Out, and down from the Look Out to Larry’s Glacier.

Blue, Yellow and Orange are open.

Never a dull moment it seems!

Yay for the snow and Boo for the rain..and we got it all.

It was snowing pretty much all day and transitioned to rain around 6. But we have managed to pull something together. It is soft and slushy with some bleed though. There are some thin sections around the Sugar Shack, Rainbow Out, and down from the Look Out to Larry’s Glacier. What can we say; expect that we are skiing again. Applying Easy Glide and waxing will be key.

***As of 9:30am, reports are coming back that caution is required on the downhill due to the amount of moisture bleeding through.**

Chanse groomed last night before it got really warm. He rolled with the snowmobile and then panned. This will start our base again for the snow to come this week.

We think that conditions will get better as the day goes and the temperature drops.

Another 5cm has fallen. It is very fluffy snow that compacts into very little, so not quite enough snow to get things open again.

Demo Day is of course canceled but we are going to have a little “Snow Squall” of our own. This weekend onlyΒ (January 6 & 7) received 25% off all regular priced items, and 50% off all clearance pieces.
