The snow we have been waiting for finally came!  Conditions will be soft today, but we have been able to open everything except the Woolner Loop.  It will take multiple passes with the machines this morning to pack , groom, and then set a classic track, so if you come early keep an eye out for our groomers.

Teal’s Tango, our dog friendly loop, is open again.  Bring your pooch for a run, but please be sure to keep your dog on a leash.

With all of this fresh snow, the snowshoeing is fantastic!!  Bring your own snowshoes, or rent from our proshop.  We are closed for fat biking today until we get the trail packed down a bit more.  Fat biking conditions will be really good by the weekend!

February 4 – Beer Tasting & Ski Night

Jan 25

We have had a bit more snow over the past 24 hours, so conditions are improving.  Today we’ll call it, “early season conditions”, so we still would not recommend your best pair of skis. We are hopeful that with the system bringing snow today we will be able to change that.

The trails that are currently open are the Green, Blue, Yellow, Orange, and Millenium loops.  Hawberry has thin spots, but the inner core is skiing quite nicely.

It seems impossible to think we lost Larry 8 years ago. This year it feels like there is so much to reflect on, with so many ups and downs between building improvements, challenges with weather and ski product delivery. All of which would have driven him nuts. The fact that we spent so much money on a paint job especially would have just thrown him for the biggest loop. But when he saw how good it looked in the end I can just hear him say “Huh, I guess that does look pretty good” and would have said it was a good call.

Of course the biggest up of all is the birth of his granddaughter, which he would have been so excited for. As someone who grew up in a small family run business I feel excited for Bay to do the same. I learned so much, but also have so many fun memories. Early morning rides in the groomer when Mom had to be at work, exploring the property jumping into big snowbanks, I also may have ended up in the creek a few times tobogganing where I shouldn’t have.

Whether you knew Larry or not take the time to be outside today and think about this wonderful community he built.

We will be open for night skiing this evening.

Our snowshoe trail is also open.

Trail tickets are $15

Fat biking conditions are currently really good.  12 km of bike trail is open. We do have Louis Garneau bikes available to rent, so come out and give that a try.  Call ahead to guarantee a bike will be available for you.

February 4 – Beer Tasting & Ski Night

Jan 24

Well we have received just enough snow over the past couple of days to open for rock skiing.

The trails that are currently open are the Green, Blue, Yellow, Orange, and Millenium loops.  There are definitely some thin spots, with the Hawberry loop being the thinnest, while the inner core is the best because it retained more snow from what we had previously.

Our snowshoe trail is also open.

February 4 – Beer Tasting & Ski Night

Jan 23

We had another little bit of very fluffy snow yesterday, but didn’t get enough to re-open trails, yet.  At this time our ski trails remain closed.  The forecast is looking promising for this week, so let’s keep our fingers crossed that we get the snow that is forecast!

Fat biking conditions are good, with very favourable reports coming in from those who rode this past weekend.  We do have bikes available to rent, so come out and give that a try.  Call ahead to guarantee a bike will be available for you.

We are still waiting on Mother Nature to provide enough new snow to allow us to reopen the ski trails, so please, any ‘influencers’ out there, work your magic!

February 4 – Beer Tasting & Ski Night

Jan 21

While we have had a little bit of snow over the past 36 hours, and slightly colder temperatures, we are still not in a position to reopen our ski trails.  Fatbiking trails are open and, despite the lack of much snow, are firm and fun to ride right now.

February 4 – Beer Tasting & Ski Night

Jan 18

Well we’ve started into a cooling trend, with hopefully consistent sub-zero temperatures through the weekend, and snow in the forecast!

All trails, skiing, fat biking, and snowshoeing, will remain closed today so that we can preserve the base that remains.

Come and do the SNOW DANCE tonight at 6PM.  We are looking for willing dancers of all ages (no experience necessary!) to join dance instructor Melissa James as she teaches us a few basic steps. The outcome of this fun, family friendly, event will be a choreographed dance routine that is sure to make that ‘white gold’ fall from the sky.  Enjoy a bonfire and some social time afterwards as well.
