What a difference  a day makes!  We are out of the deep cold and into a totally different weather system for the next few days.

All of our trails are in fantastic shape, but with these warmer temps skating will be really good today.  Conditions will be best in the earlier part of the day.

The snowshoe trails and fat biking trails are also in top shape, with just a few soft spots where there are drifts.  The fat biking will be best earlier in the day, as the trail will soften as things warm up.   Fat bike rentals are available.  Please call ahead so we can reserve one for you.

The snow conditions are really good right now!  The Husky has done a great job of smoothing out the drifts and firming up both the skate lane and the classic track.  It will be cold to start the day, but remember, “There’s no such thing as bad weather…”  Cover up, and enjoy winter in Canada now that it has arrived!

Our lower loop of fat biking trails will be open today, but there are a few large drifts on parts of the rest of the network making it too soft for riding,.  Only 2km open for riding today.

We are open for night skiing tonight (Saturday), but the lights are not programmed to come on on Saturdays, so be sure to bring a headlamp, or ski under the full moon!  Come and enjoy the magic of night skiing, snowshoeing, or fat biking.  That will also be the warmest part of the day today!

CONDITIONS UPDATE:  We will be closed for night skiing tonight due to the weather.  If you are coming for a ski this afternoon, please be sure to be on your way home by 4:30pm, so that our staff can also drive home in the daylight.

It will be a cold day out there today, with winds out of the NW that will make it feel considerably colder.  Best bets today are going to be the trails that are in the woods, where the wind chill will not be as severe. We can also expect some drifting, so sections like the Woolner loop would not be recommended. Perhaps try snowshoeing today, just make sure that you’ve dressed warmly and covered up any exposed skin.

Our fat biking trails are too soft for riding, and will be closed today.

The lights will be on tonight (Friday), and tomorrow night (Saturday), so come and enjoy the magic of night skiing, snowshoeing, or fat biking.

Black Bellows Brewing Co. will be at Highlands Nordic on Saturday night, Feb 4. Come and enjoy a ski or snowshoe followed by a flight of beer and a charcuterie board. Tickets are $40. Please rsvp and pay in advance by Thursday, by calling 705-444-5017.  Families are welcome.  Non beer drinkers $25

Chanse has been around with the big machine this morning and has dealt with all of the large drifts that had built up by yesterday evening.  No promises they won’t reappear, but both skating and classic skiing will be great today!  Get out today, before the temperature drops overnight!

Our snowshoeing and fat biking trails are both in excellent condition.  Rentals are available in our pro shop.  See the website for rates, and call ahead to check on availability.

Conditions are great right now, for skiing, snowshoeing and fat biking!  We’ve been waiting all winter for this so come out and enjoy!  The lights on our lit ski loop will be on tonight , and we’ll be open until 8PM .

The classic tracks are in really good shape, so Chanse has used the Ginzu today to touch up the skate lane.  Either technique will be amazing today.

The fat biking trail has really firmed up, so the main 9km loop will be awesome riding.

Our entire single track network is open for snowshoeing.

Yesterday’s feedback from skiers was that they were enjoying the best conditions of the season.  It will be a little colder today, so don’t forget to layer up.

All our ski trails are open and track set.  With progressive groomings, and a little new snow to add to the mix, things are firming up really nicely.   It will be another stellar day out there today!

Our snowshoe trails are open, and we are also open for fat biking today.  The trails will be a little soft still, but conditions will improve as they are ridden.  Fat bikes are available for rent, so if you’ve never tried fat biking consider giving it a go.

With more snow yesterday, conditions are steadily improving.  Our entire network is open and has been groomed by our big machine.  Conditions are still a bit soft so classic skiing might be preferable today, but whatever you decide to do it is a winter wonderland out there.

Our single track trails need to get packed down some more before we can open up for fat biking. If you are interested in riding, come on out and do a loop on snowshoes to help firm things up.  Conditions for snowshoeing are great right now!

Our pro shop is stocked with lots of selection for your active, outdoor, winter needs.  We have clothing and accessories, as well as a good selection of ski gear if you are considering upgrading your older equipment, or purchasing for the first time.  Drop in, or book a fitting appointment with our experienced staff, and we’ll help make your skiing experience that much more enjoyable!

Well we’ve had 8cm of fresh snow overnight, and it is continuing to come down!  Chanse was able to take the Prinoth Husky out so that will really help to pack down the base.

Our entire network should be open today, and track set, including the Woolner loop.

The best skiing will be earlier in the day, because the trails will become more snow covered as the day goes on.

Our fat biking will be closed today as it is too soft to ride, but snowshoeing will be fantastic.  Come on out and enjoy this fresh snow, and pack it down at the same time.

It looks like a great day to get out onto the trails today!  We may even have a visit from Mr. Sun this morning!

Our ski trails are all open and track set, with the exception of the Woolner Loop which needs a lot of cold to freeze things up before we can get machinery on it. Things are still a bit soft, making classic a nice choice for today.  There is a little drifting on the Back Red, Hawberry and Teal’s Tango, that may continue throughout the day

Snowshoeing and fat biking trails are open, but a little soft in some spots, and drifted in others.  Bikers, lower your tire pressure accordingly.

There was a little bit of additional snow last night, but we are still grooming with the snowmobiles, so the skate lane is still a bit soft after yesterdays snow.  The classic track is in really good shape throughout the network, so that will be your best skiing today.

Teal’s Tango, our dog friendly loop, is open again.  Bring your pooch for a run, but please be sure to keep your dog on a leash.

With all of this fresh snow, the snowshoeing is fantastic!!  Bring your own snowshoes, or rent from our proshop.  We are closed for fat biking today until we get the trail packed down a bit more.  Fat biking conditions will be really good by the weekend!

We are open tonight for night skiing.  If you haven’t experienced skiing under the lights yet this season, make tonight your night.  Bring a headlamp.
