Our policies for RED are now updated. Please make sure you take the time to read everything before you come for a ski.Β Click here.

We respectfully request all our trail users follow government guidelines regarding essential travel.

Big news of the day is that we are heading back into Grey as of Monday March 1st. Our trails will be able to remain open, but itΒ does mean the building will be limited again. The main thing will be the building will only be open for washroom use. All Service and ProShop items will be done Trackside and MUST be ordered in advance.

Today will all about timing. Make sure to get out for your ski early thisΒ morning. It is going to be very good skiing first thing. By noon it will be getting soft. There is a 30% chance of rain starting at 1, but itsΒ possibleΒ it might hold off until the very end of the day. Fingers crossed! Chanse has regroomed everything. It will be fastΒ in the Β morning andΒ slowing down in the afternoon.Β Please respect our closing time. Open daily from 8:30 to 4:30. OpenΒ until 8 on Wednesday and Fridays for Night Skiing.Β

Fat biking is open. If you areΒ getting out for a ride today make sure to come in the morning. We will close the trails in the afternoon (1pm) as riding in the soft and wet conditions can do a lot of damage to the trails. Trails will be quite good in the morning and but would just downright suck my mid afternoon. Pun intended…the trails would literally suck you in. Β Very low tire pressure (8PSI or less) will be key and youΒ can’t have tires less than 3.8 inches.

We have been saying it for a while now but we will be cracking down even more…A BUFF IS NOT A MASK. Please keep a clean and dry mask to wear within 50 metres of the facility.

Contact Tracing and Active Screening must be done the for everyone coming onto the property the day they will be visiting.Β You cannot do this the night before.Β You can complete a form online. We request that you complete this before you show up. Note that cell service may not be good enough to do this onsite. Once the screening and tracing is complete you will receive an email that you will need to show at our health check station before you can head out to ski. Take a screen shot of your contact tracing so it is easy to find once you arrive! If the email you receive has comes back red, it mean you have answered YES to one of the screen questions. In that case you are NOT able to ski at our location that day. If the email you receive comes back green, we will see you on the trails shortly!Β We have a paper copy that can be done in person as a back up.

Click here to contact trace.Β This must be completed every day you come skiing!

Our conditions texting update program is back!Β We update the conditions page every morning, but sometimes things change through the day. With this program updates will come directly to you as a text. No app download required. Your phone number will not be shared. These updates are not to replace checking the conditions page, but to update you on changes through the day.Β Send you cell phone number to ski@highlandsnordic.ca

It has been full spring skiing the last couple of days. Cold at night and warm during the day. Today is noΒ different but we have our trusty Husky to break the trail for us. Chanse has gone around in the machine toΒ regroup everything. It will be fast in the morning, with control. If you are skate skiingΒ that’s the best time to get out. As it warms up it will often and slow down a bit.Β Please respect our closing time. Open daily from 8:30 to 4:30. OpenΒ until 8 on Wednesday and Fridays for Night Skiing.Β

This will be the day we put the new machine to the best! The biggest reason we got the Husky. We went above zero yesterday and then dropped well below zero overnight. The trails this morning would beΒ concrete and so hard to chew up. Not with the Husky. The little tillers behind the track setter is working perfect to break things up! Trails will be excellent today. Trails will get softer as it warms up.Β Please respect our closing time. Open daily from 8:30 to 4:30. OpenΒ until 8 on Wednesday and Fridays for Night Skiing.Β

This is Spring skiing at its finest! Trails are awesome out there. We are seeing someΒ transitions from hardwax in the morning to possible klister in the afternoon. We have a lovely sunny day to start yesterday but it quicklyΒ turned snowy, but I think we will have more luck today. Its looking like a wonderful day out there. The trails are inΒ incredible shape. Now before we get a million questions, yes the tracks are on the left side. This helps to compact the trails. Skate skiers pack the trail down harder. Switching it up every once in a while will allow for the track to stayΒ firm and pack the base on that side of the trail. With our fancy newΒ machine we can do it easily as it has a double track setter! Just pull out the tea andΒ biscuits and pretend we areΒ BritishΒ this weekend. Β We have moved back into Red Zone.
