Chanse is taking a ride in the Husky today to clean everything up. We have a fresh track and skate lane. Skiing will be great today! The snow has been fast with lots of control. Today’s ski will make you feel like Β you are the fastest skier alive! Teal’s Tango, Green, Blue, Yellow, Orange, Back Red, Millennium Loop and Quarry Loop are open. Teal’s Tango, Back Red and Hawberry Loop may be little thin in sections.Β

During the week tickets will be sold out the side window of the chalet. Rentals will come through the second set of doors, all other building uses like ProShop and washrooms will come through the main doors (third set of doors).

Fat biking is open! Riding is back and is looking pretty good out there. Everything has been groomed and packed down. There will be a small selection that around the Quarry that is poor riding. But overall riding is in great shape.Β Follow @highlandsfatbike on Instagram for daily updates on conditions.

Rental & Lesson Update: We are still working on our online system so we will continue to take bookings by phone for rentals and lessons.Β Once a reservation has been made, payment and filling out the rental form can be completed onsite. We will just take bookings up to Sunday January 15.Β

Please call 705-444-6959.

Thanks in advance for your patience.

A couple of things we should remember heading to the season.

– A BUFF IS NOT A MASK. You need to keep a clean and dry mask to wear within 50 metres of the facility.

– please park in the lower parking lot. The upper lot is reserved for staff and groomers.

– Contact tracing needs to be completed each you come. Not the night before. This will only need to be shown in if come into the building.

We request you complete the online Contact Tracing and screening when coming onto the PROPERTY the day you are visiting. You should complete this before you come to ski or snowshoe or fat bike. You cannot do this the night before. This is a public health requirement. This screening will be checked ONLY whenΒ entering the building. Entry is through the pro shop doors. Note that cell service may not be good enough to fill out the online form onsite. Once the screening and tracing is complete you will receive an email. Take a screen shot of your contact tracing so it easy to find if you are planning on coming into the building! If the email you receive has come back red, it means you have answered YES to one of the screen questions. In that case public health regulations mean you are NOT able to ski at our location that day. If the email you receive comes back green, we will see you on the trails shortly! As a back-up we will have a paper copy that can be filled out onsite. Click here to contact trace.Β This must be completed every day you come skiing!
Our conditions texting update program is back!Β We update the conditions page every morning, but sometimes things change through the day. With this program updates will come directly to you as a text. No app download required. Your phone number will not be shared. These updates are not to replace checking the conditions page, but to update you on changes through the day.Β Send you cell phone number to ski@highlandsnordic.ca

It certainly is a different temperature out there than yesterday. Skiing will be very good today. And a great way to start off night skiing! We will be open until 8. See you there! Teal’s Tango, Green, Blue, Yellow, Orange, Back Red and Quarry Loop are open. There is now a track on Tea’s Tango. Back Red and Hawberry Loop may be little thin in sections. Back Red and Teal’s Tango will be drifted in spots.

During the week tickets will be sold out the side window of the chalet. Rentals will come through the second set of doors, all other building uses like ProShop and washrooms will come through the main doors (third set of doors).

Fat biking is closed. Snowshoers are extra welcome right now. It will help pack down the trails. Likely riding will be possible on Thursday or Friday.Β Follow @highlandsfatbike on Instagram for daily updates on conditions.

We πŸ’™ winter! It is so nice to see all this snow. Thank goodness we have our fancy Husky that is lighter with more track features than our old machine because I think we probably would have had a Chanseicle on our hands this morning if not πŸ˜‚ There is not a ton of base to be had but enough to get the Husky out on the trails! This is especially helpful with the drifts from yesterday. Put those layers on and get out for a ski, it will be worth it! Wind is suppose to be quieter this morning and pick up a little later this afternoon. But in the trees it won’t be as big of a problem! Teal’s Tango, Green, Blue, Yellow, Orange, Back Red and Quarry Loop are open. Chanse will try and get a track in Teal’s Tango today. Back Red and Hawberry Loop may be little thin in sections. Back Red and Teal’s Tango will be drifted in spots.

We are getting the full winter experience today. Snow, cold temps and great trails! Looks like most of the snow is coming this afternoon, but it is currently snowing so you may find the trails snow covered. You will find it windy today but if you stick to trails in the trees it won’t be as bad. The first 100m will be the worst! Chanse is out ginzue grooming. Teal’s Tango, Green, Blue, Yellow, Orange, Back Red and Quarry Loop are open. Teal’s Tango is a little thin and doesnt have a track in it yet. Back Red and Hawberry Loop are a little thin in sections. Back Red and Teal’s Tango will be drifted in spots.

Its a different temperature than yesterday to start out our day! It will hover around zero all day. Chanse is out ginzue grooming to clean up the skate lane. It will be the same track as yesterday. It will be a little washed out in sections but is overall good. Teal’s Tango, Green, Blue, Yellow, Orange, Back Red and Quarry Loop are open. Teal’s Tango is a little thin and and doesnt have a track, but is groomed for skate. Back Red is open although will be a little thin in sections, especially on the last hill. Hawberry Loop and Quarry Loop are also a little thin. As the day goes on it will get a little snow covered. It will be a great day to be outside.

On the weekends tickets will be sold out of the ticket booth. Rentals will come through the second set of doors, all other building uses like ProShop and washrooms will come through the main doors (third set of doors).

Teal’s Tango is a little thin and Chanse doesnt think that he will be able to get a track in, but it will be groomed for skate. Back Red is open although will be a little soft and thin in sections. A lovely bit of fresh snow has fallen. Chanse is out ginzue grooming. Teal’s Tango, Green, Blue, Yellow, Orange and Quarry Loop are open. It will be soft skiing in our little winter wonderland and maybe a little snow covered. It is currently snowing lightly.

No night skiing tonight. We will start next week!
Rentals and lessons will be offered this weekend! Just putting the final touches on our online booking. I will have an update for that at noon.

Fat biking is open. Riding will be a challenge today. Trails will be snow covered and heavy drifting in areas. They will groom today, hoping for better riding tomorrow. Follow @highlandsfatbike on Instagram for daily updates on conditions.

Chanse is our ginzue grooming the fresh snow. Teal’s Tango, Green, Blue, Yellow and Orange are open. It’s mostly good coverage with a few thin spots on Teal’s Tango and Hawberry Loop. There is the start of a track out there! It’s thin in some spots, overall in good shape.

We will decide on Friday but gearing up for rentals and lessons this weekend.

Fat biking is open. Riding will be a challenge today. There are areas with heavy drifting. They will groom this morning but new snow and wind will blow in certain areas. Follow @highlandsfatbike on Instagram for daily updates on conditions.

Chanse has gone around again to clean things up with the ginzue.Β Teal’s Tango, Green, Blue, Yellow and Orange are open for rock skiing. Teal’s Tango and Hawberry Loop are especially thin. The skiing will probably be better this afternoon when there has been a chance to get some fresh snow on top of the base.

We will wait to do night skiing, rentals and lessons until we have better conditions. Mostly we are waiting until the base has enough coverage to put a trackΒ

Fat biking is open. Riding is pretty good today, although the climbs will still be a little tough. Follow @highlandsfatbike on Instagram for daily updates on conditions.

When we use β€œrock skiing” to describe the trails it means that the base is still thin and you likely don’t want to use your good skis because there isn’t full snow coverage.
Rock skiing is for experienced skiers only. We wont be doing rentals or lessons just yet.Β
