Chanse is out there grooming with the Husky this morning. It is suppose to snow a bit this morning but it hasn’t started yet. You may find the trails snow covered. It will be a good day to find trails in the trees today. Higher winds will cause some drifts in the open areas. We found that even though it was warm on Wednesday night conditions were still very fast. We will likely find the same tonight. Although it’s the fun kind of fast. You can easily get control with an edge.

Fat biking is open. Trails are riding pretty well right now. The Quarry is a little drifted. Follow @highlandsfatbike on Instagram for daily updates on conditions.

Rental & Lesson Update: We are still working on our online system so we will continue to take bookings by phone for rentals and lessons. Once a reservation has been made, payment and filling out the rental form can be completed onsite. Please call 705-444-6959. Thanks in advance for your patience.

We request you complete the online Contact Tracing and screening when coming onto the PROPERTY the day you are visiting. You should complete this before you come to ski or snowshoe or fat bike. You cannot do this the night before. This is a public health requirement. This screening will be checked ONLY when entering the building. Entry is through the pro shop doors. Note that cell service may not be good enough to fill out the online form onsite. Once the screening and tracing is complete you will receive an email. Take a screen shot of your contact tracing so it easy to find if you are planning on coming into the building! If the email you receive has come back red, it means you have answered YES to one of the screen questions. In that case public health regulations mean you are NOT able to ski at our location that day. If the email you receive comes back green, we will see you on the trails shortly! As a back-up we will have a paper copy that can be filled out onsite. Click here to contact trace. This must be completed every day you come skiing!
Our conditions texting update program is back! We update the conditions page every morning, but sometimes things change through the day. With this program updates will come directly to you as a text. No app download required. Your phone number will not be shared. These updates are not to replace checking the conditions page, but to update you on changes through the day. Send you cell phone number to ski@highlandsnordic.ca

We have received just about 1cm of new snow as Chanse is grooming with the Husky. It’s funny snow. Wet snow but granular. It will be fast today but still lots of control with your edge. Skate skiers will now have their time to shine after a very classic friendly month. The track will be on the left side still as it helps to pack down the trail evenly. You will likely find the trails a little snow covered today. Have fun with this little warm spell. I know I am trying to relearn what to wear when it’s not -15 😂

Fat biking is open. As the day progresses the riding will get better. If you can wait until afternoon it will give the trail a chance to firm up. Follow @highlandsfatbike on Instagram for daily updates on conditions.

Another lefty special today. Chanse is regrooming with the Husky and the track will be on the left side. Skiing will be good today although conditions will get softer as the day goes on. Its going to be a warm one! Night skiing is on tonight, and is suppose to stay warm into the evening.

Fat biking will be open this morning, but closed by noon. The riding will be good this morning. But by the afternoon it will be quite soft and can do a lot of damage to the trails.  Follow @highlandsfatbike on Instagram for daily updates on conditions.

A lovely winter day out there. Chanse has regroomed with the Husky again today. We are still driving on the other side of the road 😋 with the track on the left side. This helps pack the base down on the right side of the trails with the skate skier traffic. Trails will be excellent today.

Fat biking is open. There will be a light dusting of snow on top of yesterdays groomed trail. Riding will be good today.  Follow @highlandsfatbike on Instagram for daily updates on conditions.

It is going to be an upside down day 🙃 Chanse has taken the Husky out out and the track will be on the left side today. This helps pack the base down on the right side of the trails with the skate skier traffic. Trails are going to be excellent for both classic and skate. Skate skiers in particular will enjoy the snow today!

Fat biking is open. The trails have been regroomed and are riding really well. Some of the less travelled sections are a little soft.  Follow @highlandsfatbike on Instagram for daily updates on conditions.

Chanse has gone around with the Husky to groom the trails just for you! It looks like we have a great day ahead of us. The trails will be excellent for both classic and skate. NOW onto conditions…we have a beautiful crisp day ahead of us. Maybe we will even luck out with a bit of sun! There has been a dusting of fresh snow on top of a firm base. Chanse is cruising around in the Husky this morning. Trails will be perfect out there! Don’t snooze on the ski because of the temps. People are missing out on some seriously good skiing waiting for it to warm up. Put on those layers and enjoy winter at Highlands today!
