Trails are looking awesome as we have another little cold snap. Chanse has regroomed everything with the Husky. It is a little windy today so you may find some drifting in the open areas. Both classic and skate will be good today!

Fat biking is open. There is still a bit of drifting by the Quarry, but other than that the riding is pretty good. The trails are being groomed this morning. Follow @highlandsfatbike on Instagram for daily updates on conditions.

Rental & Lesson Update: We are still working on our online system so we will continue to take bookings by phone for rentals and lessons. Once a reservation has been made, payment and filling out the rental form can be completed onsite. Please call 705-444-6959. Thanks in advance for your patience.

We request you complete the online Contact Tracing and screening when coming onto the PROPERTY the day you are visiting. You should complete this before you come to ski or snowshoe or fat bike. You cannot do this the night before. This is a public health requirement. This screening will be checked ONLY when entering the building. Entry is through the pro shop doors. Note that cell service may not be good enough to fill out the online form onsite. Once the screening and tracing is complete you will receive an email. Take a screen shot of your contact tracing so it easy to find if you are planning on coming into the building! If the email you receive has come back red, it means you have answered YES to one of the screen questions. In that case public health regulations mean you are NOT able to ski at our location that day. If the email you receive comes back green, we will see you on the trails shortly! As a back-up we will have a paper copy that can be filled out onsite. Click here to contact trace. This must be completed every day you come skiing!
Our conditions texting update program is back! We update the conditions page every morning, but sometimes things change through the day. With this program updates will come directly to you as a text. No app download required. Your phone number will not be shared. These updates are not to replace checking the conditions page, but to update you on changes through the day. Send you cell phone number to ski@highlandsnordic.ca

How the heck have we found ourselves at the end of February?! Skiing is going to be amazing today. The sun will be shining, the trails will be firm and fast with lots of control. Call in sick, leave work early, come out on lunch break…do what you need to do to get out on the trails today! Chanse has regroomed everything with the Husky.

Fat biking is open. Low PSI will be key. The riding is good. Up by Quarry there will be a drifted section from yesterday. It’s a little cold out for the groomers to get out now but they will be grooming later.  Follow @highlandsfatbike on Instagram for daily updates on conditions.

Finding trails in the trees will be key today. There will be higher winds, but once in the woods it will be better. Chanse has regroomed everything with the Husky, although you will find some drifting in the usual spots. See you on the trails!

A couple of general reminders:

– When snowshoeing please be sure to stay on the snowshoe trail.
– please wear a mask from the parking lot to 50 metres beyond the building
– contact tracing and screening still needs to be completed.

We are back! Light snow is currently falling on freshly groomed trails. This is why we paid the big bucks for the Husky. Going from plus 4 to -10 is extreme and would normally make skiing hard today BUT with the Husky it tills everything up so well. Skiing will be pretty good today. It will be granular snow that you can get an edge into. It’s a slow day of grooming so Chanse will be out there for a while. If you can coming a little later this morning will make for some better skiing.
The trails aren’t icy but the parking lot is. Use caution coming in. Best to take the little trail next to the parking lot to walk into the building.
